South Coast Centre for Excellence

A 2 year project to introduce leadership camps to Jamaica's at-risk children and youth. These camps will focus on developing leadership skills through the use of sport, recreation, academic tutoring, nutrition, art, music, drama, and life and skills training. The camps will be 2 and 3 weeks in length and run throughout the year. At the end of the 2 year period a 5-tier leadership program will begin using the same camp format. These camps will expand on the skills learned in the previous tier until each tier has been completed. The final tier will include a social, environmental or economic development project that will improve the sustainability of Jamaica. In the fall of 2016 we will open our Leadership Academy that will offer a boarding facility for youth from the Caricom to develop their potential to become the leaders of the future. These students will enroll in a challenging and rewarding academic program that will focus on leadership.
